This project was carried out at a listed building in Heddon on the Wall. Recently renovated, the building had been neglected for a number of years and extensive work was carried out to transform the gardens. Shrub planted areas were created and topsoil was imported. The garden boasts stone beds made with gravel, beach cobbles and boulders. The central area has a stepped water feature, a small boardwalk and gravels. The existing stone features were incorporated within the new design. A patio was built, as were a reclaimed path and driveway. Lighting was also installed adding ambience to the whole design. |

A variety of work was carried out on this new property in 2001. Designed by Robinson Landscape Design, four sections of the grounds were developed. The ‘Entrance Driveway’ to the house had trellis fencing erected with trees, shrubs and climbers planted to bring the area to life. In the ‘Walled Garden’ a timber summerhouse and arbour seat was erected and a variety of seeding and planting was carried out. Patio and gravel paths were added to the ‘Terrace Garden’ area along with tree and shrub planting. Finally, in the ‘Paddock’ seating areas were constructed and a formal tree avenue was planted with forestry/woodland planting added to the edges. An existing fountain was erected and seeding carried out to complete the project. |

Two separate projects were carried out at this impressive Victorian country house in Northumberland. The project was completed with the construction of a courtyard to complement the magnificent building. Natural materials such as stone paving, granite setts and existing garden stone were used to provide an authentic feel and a variety of planting was carried out to add the finishing touch. Project two involved topsoiling a piece of land adjacent to the house, used for training horses. Once topsoiled, formal turf was laid on to an area for playing croquet. Shrub planting was included to blend the new landscaping work with the surrounding woodland. Both projects were designed by Robinson Landscape Design. |
